A Recording Notice on the Calls You Place
Your main number can tell callers their call may be recorded. The calls your team places don’t go through that greeting, so the person you call never hears it.
Recording Notice fixes that. When a user whose calls are recorded places an outbound call and the other person picks up, both of them hear a short message: “This call is being recorded.” Then the call carries on. Nobody dials a code, and placing calls works the way it always has.
What you can do
- Turn it on for your whole organization. One switch in the Manager Portal.
- Use our message or your own. Keep the standard notice, or upload a WAV or MP3 of up to 20 seconds.
- See who it covers. It follows call recording: anyone whose calls are recorded gets the notice on their outbound calls. The panel lists everyone and says why someone isn’t covered.
- See every notice. An activity log shows each notice played or missed, with the reason when one is missed.
Where it helps
- Sales and support teams that record calls. The people you call hear the same notice your callers do.
- Callbacks and follow-ups. A returned call gets the notice too.
- States that require everyone on a call to be told. Recording rules differ by state, so check what applies to you.
Good to know
- The notice plays about seven seconds after the other person answers.
- It isn’t part of the call recording. The activity log is the record that it played.
- Emergency calls never get it.
